How Community Leaders are Supported
Our goal is to ensure you have all the tools and support you need to run your community. Some ways we support you are listed below:
1. A Community Manager
Your Airbnb partner for all things Host Clubs! They host office hours, provide support in group engagement or event planning, and send you weekly toolkits filled with the latest Airbnb news and Facebook post ideas.
2. Professional & Personal Development
Attend educational workshops throughout the year and access online resources in the Leaders Hub or through your weekly Toolkit emails.
3. Priority Support
Get quality Community Support quickly when you need it.
4. Exclusive Community Leaders Badge
You’ll have a Community Leader badge on your Airbnb profile page.
5. Member Gifting Program
Encourage participation by gifting Airbnb swag to a Club member each month!
6. Insider Access
Represent your Host community at listening sessions with the Airbnb team and attend Leader preview events for Airbnb launches.
7. Meetup Promotion and Funding Program
We will help you plan and promote your meetups. To help power your events, you'll be able to request swag and meetup kits, and have the opportunity to receive funding for two events per year.
Key Roles of a Community Leadership Team
These important roles are often managed by multiple Community Leaders within a Host Club, ensuring that each Co-Leader is utilizing their strengths and feels supported by other members of their Leadership Team. Our team will help you find and collaborate with Co-Leaders.
1. Facebook Group Moderator
The Facebook page serves as an important meeting place for Hosts to share knowledge and collaborate together. To encourage members to engage online, Leaders:
- Post weekly, sharing Airbnb updates and posting conversation prompts to encourage connection and collaboration between members
- Moderate and contribute to discussions
- Uphold the Group Rules to foster belonging and respect
2. Meetup Coordinator
Incredible things can happen when hosts are brought together! Gathering your community for online or in-person meetups is crucial for building strong Host connections.
- Gather local Hosts for online or in-person meetups 4 or more times a year to connect meaningfully, learn from each other, and have fun!
- Use Airbnb resources to ensure your events are a success, including applying for meetup funding and using provided toolkits and templates
3. Policy & Civic Engagement Champion
We have seen Host Clubs across the world make a positive impact in their local communities through volunteering and partnering with local businesses and organizations.
- Organize local civic engagement activities 2 times a year
- Build local partnerships to impact local tourism and create equitable change in your community
- Partner with your Community Manager for local advocacy needs (as needed)
4. Host Advocate
We are counting on our Leaders to elevate their community's ideas and feedback to Airbnb Leadership.
- Connect regularly with your Community Manager
- Participate in feedback workshops + events with Airbnb Leadership
- Escalate feedback and member hosting issues
